Local TD to chair Tubridy and Kelly meeting tomorrow

Public Accounts Committee chair Brian Stanley, the Laois/Offaly Sinn Féin TD, has welcomed the appearance tomorrow of Ryan Tubridy and his agent, Noel Kelly, before the committee.

Deputy Stanley said: “Since details of additional payments totalling €345,000 by RTÉ to Mr Tubridy were revealed by RTÉ, Mr Tubridy and Mr Kelly have been central to the discussions before PAC. These payments and how they arose are matters of significant public interest considering the level of funding RTÉ receives from taxpayers through the licence fee. The Committee welcomes that Mr Tubridy and Mr Kelly are appearing before PAC as we believe it is essential to hear what they have to say about the negotiation and operation of these payments by RTÉ, and related matters.”

The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) will meet at 11am tomorrow, Tuesday, July 11, in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House to discuss payments to Mr Tubridy by Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) from 2017 to date and details of Mr Tubridy’s contractual relationships with RTÉ.

PAC is a standing committee of Dáil Éireann which focuses on ensuring public services are run efficiently and achieve value for money.
