Winning streak for Oaklands CC senior basketball team

The talented members of the senior ladies basketball team at Edenderry's Oaklands Community College are enjoying a winning streak in competition this year to date.

The ladies secured a fantastic win against St. Mary's Secondary school by a margin of 18 points recently. This was topped off by a super display on October 23 with a well-earned victory over Borrisokane Community College. This game saw the Oaklands seniors placed top of their group.

Star junior players with the Oaklands Community College Basketball team, Emma Maher and Sophie Murphy who, collectively, have scored 80 points over the last three senior matches.

Among the top scorers this season, so far, have been two star junior players, Emma Maher and Sophie Murphy. Collectively they have scored 80 points over the last three senior matches.

Sibling strength on the Oaklands Community College Senior Ladies Basketball team: sisters Heidi, Faye and Beth Dunne.

The school is also capably represented by the Dunne sisters Heidi, Faye and Beth with Heidi taking on the role of captain for the senior team.

Coach Ms. O’Donovan and the staff and students at Oaklands Community College are looking forward to cheering the girls on in future competitive matches.
