UCD history professor to give lecture on sport during the Irish Revolution

Professor of History at University College Dublin Paul Rouse will give a lecture on the place of sport in the Irish Revolution next Monday (November 13) at 8pm for members of the Offaly History group. It will, in particular, explore the manner in which the reality of the lived experience of sport has been misrepresented by people who seek to make propaganda from the past.

The lecture is entitled 'The abuse of history: fact and fiction in Irish sport after 1916.' Paul has written extensively on the history of Irish sport.
