Significant Milestone for Mount Lucas parkrun

Participants and volunteers alike attended Mount Lucas parkrun to celebrate its 250th event on Saturday, December 2.

It was a cold and frosty morning but that didn't stop the celebratory atmosphere. Proud sponsor of Mount Lucas parkrun, Bord na Móna, provided hot breakfast treats for all who attended this milestone event and it was a very welcome addition to ward off the cold.

It certainly was a day for celebrations as parkrun regulars, Kevin Curran, Sam Neary and Gareth Madden, each celebrated their 100th parkrun. As well as being regular park runners, all three are also regular volunteers so are a special part of the Mount Lucas parkrun community.

Mount Lucas parkrun held it's first event in July 2017 and has gone from strength to strength since then.

It is well known for it's flat course, beautiful scenery and welcoming atmosphere. Mountlucas parkrun in a free, timed, weekly event which is open to walkers and runners alike. First timers always welcome.
