STEM Award and Scholarship for Oaklands past pupil

Staff and management at Oaklands Community College in Edenderry are delighted to have received news that past student, Sophie Moore, is the recipient of a STEM Award and Scholarship at Trinity College Dublin.

The awards are offered at the Dublin College in conjunction with Three Ireland, with the goal of awarding 25 STEM scholarships for women at undergraduate level over the next few years. The scholarships, valued at €20,000 each, over a 4-year undergraduate degree, are aimed at attracting women from Ireland and across the world to study STEM subjects at Trinity College Dublin. The scholarships will be awarded annually over five years and started in 2022. This year, the scholarships targeted undergraduate women, in their first year of studies at Trinity who are undertaking undergraduate studies in the STEM field.

Sophie, who completed her Leaving Certificate in 2023 is currently studying Physical Sciences at Trinity College. The Scholarship is an amazing achievement for Sophie and marks, no doubt, the beginning of a stellar journey in Third Level education and future career.
