Tullamore event making 'Bridéog' dolls for St Brigid's Day sells out

This Thursday is St Brigid's Day, and the occasion will be marked in Tullamore with the staging of a workshop on the making of textile 'Bridéog' dolls.

Esker Arts Centre in the town invited people to "join Teresa Doyle and make your very own textile Bridéog (which is an effigy of St Brigid) Doll".

Participants will also have an opportunity to make a St Brigid's Cross.

The workshop, geared towards adults who can sew basic stitches and enjoy needlework, has proven popular with all of the available places (priced €10) now booked out.
