Awards success for Edenderry teachers
Two Edenderry teachers are celebrating this week after they both won prestigious awards.
Conor de Faoite and his girlfriend Melissa Ní Scolaí were recipients of accolades for excellence in teaching in the Froebel Department for primary school teaching in Maynooth University.
Conor won the Vere Foster Award, which is awarded to the person who receives the highest mark on school placement, while Melissa won the Froebel Gift Award which is bestowed on the student who best incorporates the philosophy of the German philosopher Friedrich Froebel into their teaching.
Both Conor and Melissa are teaching in Gaelscoil Éadan Doire, where they teach children from third to sixth class. The pair graduated last September.
