Offaly Aontú candidate applauds referendum outcome

Aontú candidate for Birr LEA, Aubrey Claffey has spoken out against the confusion he believes was inherent in the wording of the recent constitutional referendum.

Mr Claffey asserts that the convoluted language surrounding the proposed changes made it virtually impossible for citizens to vote in favor, a sentiment echoed by many across the community.

"The wording of the referendum was so badly constructed that it rendered a 'yes' vote practically unattainable," remarked Mr. Claffey. "It's understandable why many felt compelled to vote 'no' given the farcical nature of the proposal."

In light of the widespread confusion and dissatisfaction surrounding the referendum, Aontú fought for a No No, said Mr Claffey despite what he said was "scaremongering and misinformation".

"It's disheartening to witness silence from those seeking to represent our community, particularly on such significant matters," commented Mr Claffey. "As a candidate, my campaign is centered on being a voice for the people, and I firmly reject any tactics of fence-sitting or ambiguity."
