New Ukrainian residents join in Tullamore Tidy Towns clean-up

A Tullamore litter picking event organised by the Tidy Towns association had some extra help last week when Ukrainian residents who recently moved into Clonminch Place got involved.

Ukrainian arrivals began moving into the scheme of modular houses at Clonminch, Tullamore, last December.

The recent litter picking event saw a group of Ukrainian nationals take to the streets and roads of Tullamore to help out with the collection of rubbish.

Loughnan Hooper of Tullamore Tidy Towns said the association's Ukrainian friends would be among a number of groups taking part in Tullamore Tidy Towns annual Spring Clean event on Saturday, April 13.

All groups will meet up at O'Connor Square from 10am-2pm that day. People are asked to bring their own tools where possible. Litter pickers, bags and gloves will be provided.
