Local councillor calls for appointment of Road Safety Officer for Offaly

Independent Councillor, Sean O' Brien, has called for the appointment of a full-time dedicated Road Safety Officer for Offaly.

"I have noted that Offaly County Council does not have a dedicated full-time and permanent Road Safety Officer," said Cllr O'Brien.

"Other counties have a Road Safety Officer and I am now calling on Offaly County Council to do the same and I will be raising this matter at the next council meeting. We have seen so many deaths on the roads over the past week alone and clearly some immediate action needs to be taken to improve safety on our roads," concluded the Independent councillor.
