Offaly woman Ciara Ryan has taken up a senior appointment at AIB.

Ciara, from Ballinahown, takes up the role of Head of Wealth, comprising customer financial planning and insurance teams. Her remit will also include management of the partnership between AIB and the newly formed business, AIB life – a €250m joint venture with Great-West Lifeco that brings a full range of life and pensions products to AIB customers. Ciara has strong domestic and international retail banking, investment, and insurance experience in AIB, Goodbody and M&T Bank in the US.

Her appointment is one of three new senior announcements in its Retail Banking team.  AIB has the biggest retail banking unit in Ireland, supporting over three million personal, mortgage and SME.  The bank has the largest branch network in Ireland, with 170 branches, and has 2.19 million active digital users.  AIB Retail Banking is led by Geraldine Casey.

Adrian Moynihan has been appointed as Head of Consumer, while Olaf Fitzsimmons has been appointed as Head of Business Innovation and Adoption for AIB’s Retail division.

Commenting on the appointments, AIB’s Managing Director of Retail Banking, Geraldine Casey said: “I am delighted to make these appointments to our key customer facing teams in AIB. Their wealth of experience will be instrumental in ensuring that AIB continues to deliver a step change in meeting the needs of our customers across Ireland.

“I look forward to working with Adrian, Ciara and Olaf to implement tangible customer improvements through the delivery of a broader range of products and services, more simplified processes to make it easier for our customers to bank with us and above all, strengthening AIB’s contribution to the 170 communities in which we have branches across Ireland.  We look forward to sharing these improvements with our customers in the coming months.”
