Offaly schools and businesses being urged to take part in annual Rainbow Day fundraiser

Schools and businesses in Offaly are being urged to take part in Laois Offaly Families for Autism's (LOFFA) annual Rainbow Day autism awareness fundraiser this weekend.

April is World Autism Awareness Month and Rainbow Day will be held this Friday, April 26. LOFFA is asking people to wear a coloured t-shirt of their choice and contribute €1 each to the local charity.

LOFFA is hoping to raise much needed funds in order to be able to support its membership of over 150 local families who have a child with a diagnosis of autism. All funds raised go directly to subsidising vital services needed for their children such as Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Play Therapy, behavioural therapy and Counselling. LOFFA also offers a programme of social events for families such as swimming, cinema outings, coffee mornings and monthly meetings.
