Bernie Mooney in London after his second sub 3-hour marathon on two different continents in the space of six days.

From Boston to London: Mooney runs two marathons in six days

Bernie Mooney of Tullamore Harriers ran the London Marathon on Sunday last - a mere six 6 days after completing the 26.2 miles in the Boston Marathon.

Mooney managed to complete both marathons well inside the 3-hour mark; indeed, he made light of any fatigue in his legs by running the second one in a faster time than the first.

On April 15 in Boston, Mooney clocked a time of 2.54.26, and the dedicated athlete then travelled to the other side of the Atlantic to clock 2.47.48 in London on April 21.

Both the Boston and London marathons are big part of the 'big six' or 'world marathon majors', along with the Berlin, Tokyo, Chicago and New York City marathons.

Tullamore Harriers AC has extended "massive congratulations" to Bernie after he completed the two renowned marathons in such a short time frame.

"Bernie's accomplishment of completing two marathons in just six days is nothing short of extraordinary. To not only endure such a gruelling physical challenge but also to improve upon his time from the Boston Marathon to the London Marathon is truly commendable," said Tullamore Harriers.

"Bernie's performance serves as an inspiration to all. Well done Bernie and enjoy your well-deserved rest before your next adventure," the club added.
