Countdown continues to Tullamore drama society's new production starting on Monday

Tullamore Amateur Dramatic Society (TADS) is ready to bring Knock na Geena parish to the stage with The Incarnation of the Prodigal Son, which is running for four nights, from Monday, May 13, to Thursday, May 16, in Esker Arts Centre.

Actors have been finalising their scenes, rehearsing throughout the week, refining their performances, and shaping the scenes to ensure the audience will love every minute of this production.

A long-time TADS member, and now Director of The Incarnation of the Prodigal Son, Daniel Murray tells us that he has "been keeping the energy high in the play," and was "nervous but excited".

"Actors have made great strides. The crew has been putting in serious shifts in getting it all together," he said, adding, "you do not want to miss this play".

Boasting a cast of 15 on stage, including seasoned actors and new faces, a pub scene set is being finalised under the co-ordination of Mark Quinlan with help from Rocky Whelan.

TADS promises an authentic Knock na Geena drama, full of the raw energy around a club championship and the ties to the lives around it.

Ciara Kinnarney, PRO of TADS, adds: "Having such a young playwright, Patrick Fogarty, write this play shows the great talent we have in the country, and how well they are supported. Fuse that with the great cast, director, and crew that TADS has here, and this show promises to deliver."

TADS has been growing as a group each year, seeing new members join the amateur dramatic society in earnest.

It runs two productions on average each year, with another production set for November of this year. TADS is a voluntary run group, committed to the promotion of theatre in the area and offering opportunities to its members to experiment and grow in the theatrical realm.

Tickets are on sale for The Incarnation of the Prodigal Son on the Esker Arts Centre website.
