Beat on the Peat to bring summertime to Offaly!

A summertime party atmosphere will bring music and dancing to the Moystown crossroads, near the village of Belmont on June 30 as young and old will be gathering in Moystown Pitch for the much-anticipated Beat on the Peat Musical festival. The event is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of Folk, Trad and Pop music in the West Offaly area and crowds are expected to gather from all over the Midlands and beyond.

The festival will run from 1pm-7pm with an exciting line up including the hugely popular Whistlin Donkeys, Ruaile Buaile, Tradstone and The Porter Bellys. There will also be a children’s entertainment area, a local craft village, a food court and a fully stock bar available on the day.

The fun is not just for the adults as admission is free for children under 16 when accompanied by an adult, with children’s entertainment on the day including face painting, balloon modelling, carnival games and designated games pitches set aside for children to play.

The craft village will showcase small business, photography & yoga demonstrations, good gut information talks and many more.

Nobody will go hungry or thirsty on the day as there will be a well-stocked bar on site as well as a shop serving tea/coffee, sandwiches, soft drinks and sweets. Foodalicious catering company will have food vans on sight, serving burgers, chips, barbecued food, crepes and ice cream.

Parking will be provided free of charge in an adjacent car parking area.
