Council seeks Town and Village Renewal expressions of interest

Offaly County Council is seeking expressions of interest from community groups for potential projects for funding under the Town and Village Renewal.

The scheme, which is administered by the Department of Rural and Community Development, is designed to support the revitalisation of rural Ireland by focusing on stimulating town centre economic and social regeneration.

This will be achieved through projects which support sustainable employment creation, town centre resilience and regeneration, enhancing our streetscapes and bringing vacant and derelict buildings and land back into use as community multi-purpose spaces through refurbishment and renovation.

The 2025 Scheme will place particular emphasis on projects that will:

*Drive town centre regeneration

*Support town/village centre plaza development

*Develop green spaces/recreational amenities

*Enhance streetscapes

*Support town/village centre markets

*Support the provision of infrastructure to facilitate town/village centre markets

*Upgrade/refurbish community centres

*Bring vacant & derelict buildings back into use as multipurpose community spaces

For the 2025 scheme, Offaly County Council can submit a maximum of four applications under the main scheme, three for between €50,000 to €300,000 and one between (€50,000 and €500,000) and two under the Project Development Measure – (Max €50,000)
