Offaly's Tailteann Cup fate known following group phase draw

Offaly senior footballers have been made aware of their Tailteann Cup fate following the draw for the All-Ireland second tier competition this afternoon.

The Faithful County have been placed in Group 2 of the competition and will contest games against Laois, Wicklow and Waterford.

The first of three round robin fixtures will take place on May 10/11 when the Faithful County host Wicklow. Offaly will then travel to Waterford for their second fixture on May 17/18, while their closing contest, to be played at a neutral venue against Laois, is scheduled for May 31/June 1.

The respective group winners will advance to the quarter final stage of the competition with the group runners-up and three out of the four group third placed teams and New York progressing to the preliminary quarter final phase.

The reigning Allianz National Football League Division 3 champions suffered defeat to Meath in the quarter final of the Leinster senior football championship and will be hoping to return to their early season winning ways as their tilt at the Tailteann Cup commences.
