Tenth parkrun for seven-year-old Tadhg

The Canavan family are no stranger to fun, fitness and parkrun. Tadhg Canavan, aged 7 years, has been attending Mountlucas parkrun long before he could walk or talk. When he was an infant and a toddler he attended the parkrun with his family either in a sling carried by his mother, or in a buggy. It's no small wonder then that he has taken so well to participating in parkrun in his own right.

His parents, Sharon and Shane, are both strong runners, as well as his older brothers Fionn and Daithí. The boys' love of running is likely inspired by their mother Sharon's long standing history of endurance running, having recently completed the Hamburg marathon. Sharon herself has completed almost 100 parkruns too. Speaking to Sharon after Tadhg's milestone event she said "I am so proud of Tadhg. He has been around this course so many times, long before he was able to walk it himself. I'm so proud of our three boys and their fantastic running."

Tadhg was encouraged across the finish line by his proud parents and brothers Fionn and Daithí. His brother Daithí achieved a new "personal best" time for his parkrun on the day - it seems the celebratory atmosphere suited him!
