Lowry finishes joint second on US PGA Tour

Shane Lowry finished joint second in the Truist Championship on the US PGA Tour in Philadelphia tonight.

Lowry was in contention for his first PGA Tour win since 2022 throughout the competition but bogeys on the 16th and 18th put paid to his chances, and saw victory go instead to his playing partner Sepp Straka.

Straka took the $3.6m first prize with a two-under-par final round of 68 to finish on 16 under, two clear of Lowry, and Justin Thomas. Lowry carded a level par 70 in his final round.

The title was up for grabs right up to the final green where Lowry had a putt for birdie to at least force a play off, with Straka, who was further from the hole, leaving himself with a tricky three-footer for par.

However, the Clara man's putt ran past the hole and he missed the return putt to leave Straka with breathing space.
