Two Offaly players named on Tailteann Cup 'team of the week'

Two Offaly footballers have been named on the GAA.IE Tailteann Cup 'team of the week'.

Defender Diarmuid Egan and forward Jack Bryant were both recognised for their individual displays during the Faithful County's opening Group 2 victory over Wicklow in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore on Saturday.

Bryant contributed 1-5 of his team's scoring total, while Diarmuid Egan scored a goal from his centre back berth as Offaly started their Tailteann Cup campaign with an eight point win.

It was a positive start for the Allianz National Football League Division 3 champions who had lost their previous five games in the second-tier senior football championship.

The Faithful County travel to Walsh Park in Waterford to play the host county in their second group fixture on Saturday afternoon (throw-in, 1.30pm).
