Tullamore facility up for two accolades at Irish Healthcare Centre Awards
Riada House Community Nursing Unit and Day Care Centre in Tullamore has been shortlisted in two categories at the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards 2025, which take place next week.
The facility is based on the Arden Road in Tullamore, with Riada House Day Care Centre facilitating the health and social care needs of 20 attendees daily from the Tullamore community and surrounding catchment area.
The day care centre is nurse-led and provides a variety of services to older people in the community, in order to promote and enhances social contact and prevent loneliness.
The HSE said the facility provides social and recreational stimulation in a safe environment and provides some relief for caring relatives.
"Day Care plays an important part in maintaining a significant number of attendees to remain living at home in accordance with their wishes and embracing the ethos of Slaintecare. It is a 65 or older service, and operates on the basis of a public health nurse referral pathway," stated the HSE.
