Offaly secondary school becomes a 'global village' during culture day event
Oaklands Community College in Edenderry came alive with colour, rhythm, and the rich aromas of world cuisine during its annual Culture Day, a joyful celebration of diversity and inclusion organised by Ms K. Lawless.
The event, held in the school gym, transformed the space into a global village where students and staff took a journey around the world without ever leaving the building.
Dozens of stalls, each representing a different country, showcased traditional food, music, dress, and cultural information.
Students proudly ran their stalls, engaging guests with interesting facts, and serving up delicious homemade dishes.
The effort put into each presentation was evident, highlighting the students' commitment and creativity.
The day also featured an impressive line-up of performances. There was Irish Dancing, followed by poetry readings and powerful vocal performances.
