Daingean boxer selected to represent Ireland at Elite International event

Daingean boxer Brian Kennedy has been named as part of an eight-strong Ireland team to take on Austria in a keynote Elite International in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, on Friday (May 23).

The son of John and Anna Kennedy from Main Street, Daingean, Kennedy boxes out of the St Brigid's Boxing Club in Edenderry and has been selected for the Irish team in the 86kg category.

Kennedy previously represented his country on the international stage when he was named as part of an 18-strong team to contest the 76th Strandja Memorial tournament in February.

This is the fourth international to take place to date in 2025, following the hosting by Central Council of three Youth internationals against Wales, and France/India, in March. These took place in Derry, at the National Stadium, and at Holy Family Boxing Club, Drogheda.
