Met Éireann issues fresh weather warning for thunderstorms in Offaly

A fresh yellow-level weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for ten counties, including Offaly.

Met Éireann issued the warning for "scattered thunderstorms" at 9am this morning (Tuesday).

The warning is due to remain in effect throughout the afternoon and early evening, until 8pm.

Met Eireann said there was potential for lightning damage and spot flooding in the affected counties while the weather warning was in effect.

In addition to Offaly, the weather warning was issued for the counties of Carlow, Clare, Galway, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick, Tipperary and Wicklow.
