Robotics world champions 'The Steminists' celebrate with homecoming event

Sacred Heart School celebrated their award-winning all-female robotics team with a fantastic homecoming event.

The Steminists returned home to Tullamore to crowds of supporters including friends, family, teachers, local TDs and councillors.

The team is made up of Rachel Ebenezer, Alice Duffy, Olivia Hoey, Emily Thunder, and Jasmine Matsushita.

After their win, the team were hailed as "world champions" as they brought home the Judges Awards from the Vex IQ Robotics World Championships in Dallas last week.

The competition took place from May 12 to May 14, and featured teams from across the globe.

The VEX Robotics World Championship brought together the top VEX IQ Robotics Competition, VEX V5 Robotics Competition, and VEX U Robotics Competition teams from around the globe to celebrate their accomplishments and participate in the 2024-2025 games.
