Offaly senior hurling duo named in GAA.ie 'Team of the Week'

Two Offaly senior hurlers have been named in the GAA.ie 'Team of the Week' following their displays in the Faithful County's win over Antrim in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore on Sunday.

Defender Donal Shirley commanded his centre back berth and was the fulcrum for numerous attacks over the game's duration, the Tubber clubman contributing two points to his county's victory.

Forward Charlie Mitchell also integrally contributed to the Faithful County cause. His presence proved continuously problematic for the Antrim defence, the Kilcormac-Killoughey clubman contributing three points to the win.

The team's five point victory assured Liam McCarthy status was retained for the 2026 championship and concluded a competitive season where league promotion was also secured.
