Dunne rewarded for pivotal provincial final display

Offaly footballer Dylan Dunne has been named Electric Ireland Minor Football Championship 'Player of the Week'.

The accolade reflects Dunne's performance in the recent Leinster final victory over Louth when the centre forward played a pivotal role in ensuring the Faithful County claimed their first provincial minor title since 1989.

The Clara player contributed 1-1 to the winners' cause, his crucial first half goal providing the platform upon which Offaly's success was achieved.

Offaly's reward for their Leinster final win is an All-Ireland quarter final fixture against Mayo, a game which will take place in Dr Hyde Park Roscommon on Sunday, June 8 (throw-in, 3pm).
