First Ploughing Championships organising meeting to be held in Mucklagh today
The National Ploughing Association will host the first Local Organising Committee Meeting for the 2025 National Ploughing Championships this evening (Thursday).
The committee will meet in Mucklagh Community Centre at 8.30pm tonight (June 5).
The National Ploughing Championships are set to take place in Screggan, Tullamore, on September 16 to 18.
The Ploughing was held on the same farm in 2016-2017-2018 hosted by the late Joe Grogan, with his wife Lisa Flaherty Grogan hosting the 2025 event with additional lands being made available for ploughing and parking from many neighbouring farmers.
The 3 day event is set to bring millions into the local economy mainly through the hospitality industry but also utilising many local services in order to build an event that requires upwards of 700 acres.
