Over €250,000 in funding announced for two Offaly towns

Over €250,000 in funding has been announced for key community projects in Clara and Daingean under the latest round of the Community Recognition Fund.

The investment announced by the Government today is designed to support vital upgrades and facility developments including:

* A total of €75,542 for the renovation and conservation of the Clara Family Resource Centre.

* A sum of €65,000 for Clara Ladies Gaelic Football Association to provide changing and toilet facilities.

* Over €50,000 to upgrade and extend the Clara Community Playground.

* A total of €60,000 to enhance the Daingean (Molesworth Bridge) Playground.

Local TD John Clendennen welcomed the funding allocations, saying: "These projects will have a lasting positive impact on our communities, enhancing facilities and promoting inclusivity.

"I commend both Offaly County Council and the local groups involved for their dedication and I am delighted to support initiatives like these that strengthen our community fabric."
