Two Offaly players named on Tailteann Cup 'team of the week'

Two Offaly footballers have been named on the GAA.IE Tailteann Cup 'team of the week' following the Faithful County's preliminary quarter-final victory over New York in the competition on Saturday afternoon.

Team captain Lee Pearson and forward Dylan Hyland were both recognised for their individual exploits as part of the collective comprehensive win over their Stateside opponents in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore.

Pearson was prominent from his corner back berth while Hyland contributed 1-12 to Offaly's scoring tally over the game's duration.

Both players make a swift return to Tailteann Cup action on Saturday evening when Offaly travel to Newbridge to play Kildare at the quarter-final stage of the second-tier championship, throw-in 6.30pm.
