Biodiversity workshop for Offaly tourism operators

Tourism businesses in Offaly are invited to attend a half-day workshop on biodiversity next week.

The event, titled 'Thriving Together: Biodiversity and Business', is being provided by Offaly County Council in partnership with Fáilte Ireland and the EU Just Transition Fund.

Hosted by Mary Hensey, EU Just Transition Tourism Activator, and Ricky Whelan, Biodiversity Officer at Offaly County Council, this free event aims to inform new and emerging tourism businesses on how to best embed biodiversity into their operations and offerings.

Participants will gain insights into the policy context shaping sustainable tourism and biodiversity; explore how biodiversity can enhance the business and the visitor’s experience; discover practical ways to integrate biodiversity into products and services; and hear from businesses that have embedded biodiversity in successful and innovative ways.

The workshop will feature inspirational case studies from tourism businesses leading the way in sustainable practice. Attendees will also be signposted to relevant supports, and tools.

All tourism providers are welcome to attend the workshop at Esker Arts Tullamore, from 9.30am until 1.30pm on Wednesday, June 18. Booking is essential and to reserve your place you can email mhensey@offalycoco.ie
