Gardai issue advice after spate of thefts from vehicles in Edenderry
An Garda Síochána are investigating a number of thefts from unlocked vehicles in the Edenderry area during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Gardai said it is a trend they are seeing across the region, where vehicles are being left unlocked overnight, making them an easy target for opportunistic criminals.
A spokesperson said: "We are again urging residents to lock all vehicles, remove valuables, and remain vigilant."
Gardai have reiterated their advice, which is to lock your vehicles, to remove all property, especially electronics and cash, to park in well-lit or secure areas where possible and to check any CCTV or doorbell footage and report suspicious activity.
The spokesperson added: "We understand that many may feel “it won’t happen to me,” but unfortunately, it can—and does. Criminals are exploiting complacency, often going street to street, trying door handles."
Report suspicious activity to Edenderry Garda Station on 046 973 1290 or Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
