Naomh Molaoise LGFA holds successful bikeathon fundraiser

Naomh Molaoise ladies football club held its annual bikeathon fundraiser on Saturday last June 21, in Daingean GAA, and the event was described as "a resounding success".

It was a day of cyclists, guest cyclists, local celebrities, interviews, live music with Owen Og Scully, Zumba with Dorinda, a bake sale, colour, fun, coaches Uniquely Irish race, face painting, and U8, U 10 and U12 matches.

The event attracted sponsorship from many local businesses, and with the fabulous weather on the day it brought a real 'feel good' factor.

Thanking all who took part, the club expressed its gratitude to its sponsors and volunteers.

There were thank-yous to Enda Dunne, Offaly LGFA Intermediate manager, Michelle Mann, Offaly intermediate captain and club member, Declan Kelly, Offaly senior football manager, Tadgh Kelly, Shane Tierney, David Dempsey, Offaly footballers, Brian Kennedy, boxer, Fr Paddy Byrne, club member, and Offaly Rose Nicole Heffernan for coming along on the day.

"A special thanks to the organising committee for their hard work putting the day together, they asked and the community stepped forward," added Naomh Molaoise LGFA.
