Clara school bids farewell to Ms McGrath after 15 years service
Clara's Scoil Phroinsiais Naofa has bid a bittersweet farewell to teacher Ms Fiona McGrath after 15 years of dedicated service.
Fiona is set to take up an exciting new role as Deputy Principal of Ballinagar National School.
"Ms. McGrath has been with us for 15 years and has played such an important part in school life here, always dedicated, caring and full of enthusiasm for her students.
"She was instrumental in setting up our ASD class back in 2010, kitting out our classes to the best and advising & leading staff members in the best possible teaching methods.
"In 2012, she become one of first teachers in our school to complete specialist training in SEN & Autism, when she graduated from St. Angela's College Sligo/NUI Galway with an Hons Postgraduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs & Autism."
Fiona is an active member of the I.N.T.O , a regular delegate to it's annual Congress & conferences, and delegate to I.N.T.O District 7. Fiona also served as four years as branch secretary of the Tullamore Branch of the I.N.T.O., during which time she lead the branch with efficiency and dedication.
A talented teacher, Fiona's kind and helpful manner endeared her to staff, parents and pupils alike. She is aways willing to help out in anyway possible and will be very much missed by staff, parents and pupils alike.
