Rhode forecaster predicts 'a month of two halves' for July

Rhode native forecaster Cathal Nolan, who runs Ireland's Weather Channel, has predicted July to be 'a month of two halves' in terms of weather.

Despite mixed conditions in the first half of the month, Cathal has noted that European weather models have shown areas of high pressure in the second half of the month.

"Weather models [move towards] the idea that we may see much improved conditions from the middle of the month onwards," he said.

"That may seem like an eternity away, but we are starting to see signs that we will see much improved conditions. What we're starting to see is a block of high pressure is expected to set up close to, if not directly over the country.

"For those of you who think summer is very much gone, this is certainly a silver lining."
