Five Spar stores in Offaly receive retail excellence accolade

Five Spar stores in Offaly have been honoured by the operators of the Spar brand in Ireland for achieving "exceptional standards" in retailing.

The stores in Tullamore, Birr, Edenderry Cloghan and Ferbane received the accolade at the 2025 Spar 365 Standards Customer Care Programme in Killashee Hotel, Naas, and hosted by BWG Foods, owners and operators of the Spar brand in Ireland.

The Spar 365 Awards, in association with independent bodies Solution Management Associates (SMA) and Lloyds Register Quality Assurance LRQA, are designed to recognise branches of the retail chain which have "excelled during the year across all areas of store".

In winning these awards, the Spar stores were independently assessed across a range of criteria including customer service through SMA as well as a robust Food Safety and Hygiene audit conducted by LRQA.

The Offaly stores which received a Spar 365 Retailing Standards Award were:

* Seamus Kane, Kane's Spar Ardan Road, Tullamore

* Ben & Mary Rose Sweeney, Sweeney's Spar, Edenderry

* Spar Corrib Oil, Birr

* Spar Corrib Oil, Ferbane

* Aiden Healy, Healy’s Spar, Cloghan
