Tuallmore's Charleville Castle confirmed as filming location for Netflix's Wednesday
Charleville Castle in Tullamore has been confirmed as a filming location for popular Netflix series Wednesday.
Rumors were rife in October of last year as Wednesday star Jenna Ortega was spotted off camera enjoying all that Offaly had to offer, and reports that at least one half of Hollywood power couple, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas, had been in the Offaly capital.
Now, with Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 set to drop on August 6, 2025, and Part 2 set to follow on September 3, filming locations for the season have been confirmed.
Dramatic landscapes of Ireland can be seen on screen throughout in the series, including tthe gothic Charleville Castle in County Offaly. Home of the King Oak, it was also seen on screens in Becoming Jane and The Tudors.
Other filming locations include Powerscourt Demesne in Enniskerry, with its stunning waterfall and gardens that have featured many times on screen including Vikings and Disenchanted. Whilst the atmospheric Deansgrange Cemetery in Dublin, which provides another backdrop to the series, is also the final resting place of noted Irish people including former Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Seán Lemass and singer Sinéad O’Connor.
“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore,” said Gough and Millar.
The eerie world of Wednesday comes from Tim Burton, who continues his role as director and executive producer in Season 2. MGM Television is the studio behind Wednesday.
