New COPD group to get underway in Edenderry

A new support group for people in the Edenderry area living with a diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) will hold its first get-together later this month.

The new group, which has been established by COPD Support Groups Ireland, with funding from the HSE, will meet in Edenderry Community Cabin every Thursday at 2pm, with the first class due to get underway at 2pm on Tuesday, July 29 next.

Weekly classes will feature an exercise session led by a qualified physical fitness trainer, which is suitable for all fitness levels and where all participants can exercise at their own pace. There will also be an opportunity for social chat and interaction among those attending the support group.

COPD Support Groups afford people living with respiratory disease the opportunity to come together to exercise, socialise and learn. As well as providing guided exercise classes, the Edenderry Support Group will also benefit from regular talks by experts in the field of COPD.

Anyone wishing to register for the Edenderry COPD Support Group can phone: 083 0864118 or email: support@copd.ie for more details.
