Dawid Kluz of Loughagore, Kilbeggan, and Tullamore, died following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Co Laois on the N77 at the junction of the Portlaoise Road and Ballyroan Road in Abbeyleix at approximately 7.50pm on Tuesday.

The deceased was a staff member of Shanette Superior Space in Kilbeggan and the company paid a poignant tribute to their colleague today.

The company said: “With our broken hearts, we share the news that we've lost one of our valued Shanette colleagues, in a traffic accident.

“Davy Kluz was loved by everyone and truly was part of our family. Starting on the factory floor at 16, he had recently transitioned to the drawing office and was loved by everyone he worked with along the way.

“Davy's bright smile lit up the building, and he’ll be deeply missed and never forgotten.

“Our deepest condolences go out to all who loved Davy, especially his dad Bart and brother Matt, who are also part of our team here at Shanette.”

Tullamore Town FC also expressed their deep sadness at news of the passing of a former player.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our former player, Davy. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all his family and friends during this difficult time. Davy will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, both on and off the pitch. May he rest in peace. “
