Birr-based singing teacher honoured by Royal Irish Academy of Music

Yvonne O'Toole, a professional singer and singing teacher in Birr, has spoken of her delight at being selected for a Spotlight Award by the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

The national accolade recognises Yvonne's commitment to vocal education and the consistent success of her students at every level.

"This award is a huge honour," she said. "But more than anything, it's a tribute to the hard work and heart my students bring to every session. Watching them grow in skill and confidence is the most rewarding part of what I do."

A seasoned performer with 19 years of experience on both national and international stages, Yvonne began delivering singing lessons through her 'Voice by Yvonne O'Toole' business some five years ago.

Based at Syngefield Industrial Estate in Birr, her singing academy draws students from across the region and offers expert tuition in classical, contemporary, and musical theatre styles.

Many students have gone on to perform in national competitions, achieve high exam results, and take their first steps toward professional music careers.

The Royal Irish Academy of Music Spotlight Award, signed by director Deborah Kelleher and chairperson Judith Woodworth, celebrates not only student achievement, but also the role dedicated teachers like Yvonne play in inspiring, guiding, and unlocking talent.
