A new buzz on the road: New look for Ireland's children's ambulance service
BUMBLEance, Ireland’s only dedicated Children’s Ambulance Service, has unveiled the first of the newly redesigned fleet.
This exciting launch marks the first step in a broader fleet refresh project, designed to update, maintain, and future-proof aging vehicles while continuing to expand services nationwide, ensuring that Ireland’s youngest patients can travel in comfort to their healthcare.
BUMBLEance makes a difference by empowering the thousands of families unable to access their child’s healthcare through providing nationwide healthcare journeys in a safe, caring, and fun environment, offered completely free of charge.
The BUMBLEance fleet, is embracing a fresh new look - still fun and bright, but now featuring a more streamlined design that better reflects a simplified brand and the organisation’s personality.
The new design places the ‘beeline’ at its heart, symbolising forward movement, progress, and nationwide reach.
While the yellow background remains, in line with EU-standard ambulance colouring for visibility and safety, secondary pops of colour highlight the child-focused, friendly nature of BUMBLEance’s services.
BUMBLEance, General Manager, Ian Fallon said: “The new look of our vehicle highlights very literally the fact that we transport children of all ‘shapes and sizes’, regardless of their background, condition, or location. This relaxed, playful livery will help us stand out while giving our service users an immediate understanding of our organisation’s personality.”
This fleet refresh, made possible through funding from the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal in partnership with Community Foundation Ireland, supports BUMBLEance’s goal of treating transport as an onboard extension of a child’s healthcare experience.
Enhanced interiors, sensory supports, and onboard entertainment and activities will be rolled out as additional vehicles are updated.
