LGFA president urges fans to support camogie finals

Moate native and LGFA president Trina Murray has called on supporters of Gaelic games nationwide to make the trip to Croke Park for this Sunday's All-Ireland Camogie finals.

Three finals will take place at GAA HQ, the Intermediate Camogie Championship contest featuring Offaly who will play Kerry in the competition's showpiece fixture.

"We were delighted to see such a big crowd at Croke Park last Sunday for our TG4 All-Ireland Finals. An attendance of over 48,000 represented the third highest for All-Ireland Finals day in LGFA history.

“The inter-county season is not over. Next Sunday, the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Camogie Finals will take place at Croke Park. Three games are down for decision and six counties will be represented on the big day, namely Laois, Armagh, Kerry, Offaly, Galway and Cork.

“I’m urging ladies gaelic football supporters and indeed supporters of gaelic games from all over Ireland to make the trip to Croke Park on Sunday for the All-Ireland Camogie finals.

“Let’s get behind the phenomenal athletes who will proudly wear their county colours and go in search of silverware in the Premier Junior, Intermediate and Senior grades.

“The Camogie Association will have something for everyone on a family-oriented day and a wonderful atmosphere is guaranteed.

“Let’s help to ensure that a huge crowd flocks to Croke Park and all of us at the Ladies Gaelic Football Association wish our Camogie Association counterparts all the very best in the coming days ahead of their annual flagship day," the LGFA president said.
