Tullamore's Charleville Castle served as 'Nevermore' in Wednesday Season Two
Tullamore's Charleville Castle served as the halls of fictional boarding school Nevermore in Season Two of the popular Netflix series, Wednesday.
The series features big stars such as Jenna Ortega (as Wednesday), Catherine Zeta Jones (as Morticia Addams), Christina Ricci (as Marilyn Thornhill), and even has a surprise appearance from pop star Lady Gaga.
“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore,” said Gough and Millar.
The eerie world of Wednesday comes from Tim Burton, who continues his role as director and executive producer in Season 2. MGM Television is the studio behind Wednesday.
Charleville Castle Artist in Residence, Michael Vance, shared a look inside the hallways of the castle as they were adorned in banners for filming.
Mr Vance shared a sweet story about a couple who eloped during the filming of the series.
"The 'Wednesday' crew were more than willing to collaborate with us to ensure the couple could still go ahead with their plans," he said.
"While the Gallery was in use for filming, the couple was given the rare opportunity to hold their ceremony in the Library.
"After the ceremony, we led them out through the main hallway, beautifully set dressed for Wednesday, with members of the cast and crew present. We all gave the newly-weds a round of applause.
"They were a goth couple, so I can only imagine how it must have felt, ‘like winning the lottery’, to have a Tim Burton production celebrating their marriage!"
Wednesday, Season Two Part One, was released on August 6, and is now available for streaming on Netflix.
Season 2, Part Two is set for release on Wednesday, September 3.
