Edenderry optometrist partners with local golf club for captains' weekend event
An Edenderry-based optometry practice said it was making eye health and visual correction "a sporting priority" after it partnered with Edenderry Golf Club by sponsoring the club's flagship captains' weekend tournament which took place from Friday to Sunday last.
Elizabeth Switzer Optometrists, in addition to sponsoring the three-day event, was on-site throughout the weekend with a dedicated stand offering advice, product displays, exclusive discounts, and expert insights into eye health and sports vision.
It added that banners and branded materials across the course marked the beginning of "an exciting collaboration" between the practice and one of Offaly's most vibrant sporting communities.
The partnership aims to spotlight the important role vision plays in sports performance, particularly in golf, where depth perception, focus, and visual clarity can directly impact a player's game.
The team also highlighted the importance of protecting eye health with high-quality UV-blocking lenses and contrast-enhancing sports eyewear.

Edenderry Golf Club has been in existence since 1910, with a unique course designed by Eddie Hackett which largely uses the natural terrain to create a challenging Par of 72.
The club has since built up a highly regarded reputation within the local community and is often described as a 'golfing gem' of the Midlands.
