Moment of creative ingenuity recognised by elite Irish champion boxer
One girl's ingenuity was rewarded when her sporting hero paid a surprise visit to her home to acknowledge her creativity.
Ballinamere native, Zoe Brennan (9), created an image of Irish elite champion boxer Gráinne Walsh for the 'design a wooden spoon' competition at the recently hosted Tullamore Show.
Having received a message from Zoe's father John regarding his daughter's endeavours, the Tullamore boxer called to the family home to see and sign the artistic work.
In a social media post, the Olympian said the creative design was "one of the most unique things I have ever heard, but I was so humbled".
"Moments like this are what I will look back on in years to come and cherish the memories of inspiring a child".
In her role as a Dare to Believe ambassador, Gráinne had previously visited Ballinamere National School to give the pupils a talk on her sporting journey to date.
