Offaly’s Ann-Marie McGlynn wins Frank Duffy 10 mile

Offaly native Ann-Marie McGlynn produced a brilliant performance in Phoenix Park on Saturday (August 16) to win the Irish Life Frank Duffy 10 Mile.

Anne smashed the women’s course record in the process, crossing the line in 56:08 – more than three and a half minutes clear of the field – and added to her victory at last month’s Fingal 10km.

The result makes it two wins from two for McGlynn in the 2025 Irish Life Dublin Race Series.

The reigning national marathon champion began her athletics career as a youngster with Tullamore Harriers.

Speaking after the race, McGlynn said: “It was a tough wee course, my first time to do it and again, it was like a mini-Dublin Marathon with all the organisation and set-up. You’re in the middle of the Phoenix Park, come up the night before, get in your warm-up.

"I can’t believe this is my first time to do the Dublin Race Series, it’s just fantastic. I thought I was going to be on my own but then one of the lads, David, that I’d know, came up beside me within the first mile and we just rocked it out together. I’ll decide a couple of weeks out about doing the Dublin Half. It’s all about seeing where everyone is in the family and then working around that, but I’m very happy with my form.”

The event saw thousands of runners, from elite club athletes to recreational participants, take on the challenging Phoenix Park course in perfect running conditions.

The Dublin Race Series continues with the Half Marathon in Phoenix Park on Sunday, September 21, before concluding with the flagship Irish Life Dublin Marathon on Sunday, October 26.
