Hejira will be celebrating Joni Mitchell in Tullamore next Saturday (September 6).

Esker Arts celebrates Joni Mitchell with well-known tribute band

Tullamore's Esker Arts Centre is celebrating the music of Canadian-American singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell as they welcome well-known tribute band Hejira.

Taking to the stage on Saturday, September 6, Hejira aim to embody the very best of the music of Joni and her 'Jazz period'.

The band comprises Hattie Whitehead on vocals and guitars, Pete Oxley on guitar, Ollie Weston on saxophones, Chris Eldred on piano and keyboards, Dave Jones on electric basses, Rick Finlay on drums, and Marc Cecil on percussion.

The band is fronted by the brilliant Hattie Whitehead who has assimilated the poise, power and beauty of Joni’s vocals, and also plays guitar with Joni’s stylistic mannerisms.

Expect an evening of the great songs from Mitchell’s back catalogue, such as Amelia, Woodstock, A Case Of You, Song For Sharon, Free Man in Paris, to name a few.

Other stops on the bands tour of Ireland include Galway, Limerick, Belfast, and Ballyboofey.
