Excitement builds as Edenderry set to welcome Cannonball spectacle

An electric atmosphere will prevail in Edenderry next month as the ever-popular Cannonball supercar spectacle returns to the Offaly town.

Excitement is building ahead of the fundraising event in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation which will pass through Edenderry on Friday, September 12.

A gleaming convoy of supercars will parade through the town before continuing on their journey to Daingean and Tullamore and arrivign at their final destination in Cork.

Cannonball Founder Alan Bannon expressed his sincere thanks to Councillor Noel Cribben and Edenderry Festival Chairman Ken Logan for their support in bringing the popular event back to the town.

Cannonball offers spectators a unique opportunity to witness the world's most prestigious and sought-after supercars up close, motor enthusiasts enjoying the unique festival atmosphere for which Cannonball is renowned.

This year the official charity of Cannonball is The Jack and Jill Children's Foundation, the Irish children’s charity that funds and delivers in-home nursing care, respite support and end-of-life care for children from birth to six years of age with severe learning disability often associated with complex medical needs and is often described as a ‘lifeline’, giving exhausted parent carers a break from their 24/7 care regime.

The chairity operates seven days a week with no means test, no red tape and no waiting list, and has cared for 41 children in Offaly since being established in 1997.
