Frank McEvoy Memorial Road Race to take place this Friday

Final preparations are being put in place this week for the annual Memorial Road Race organised by Killeigh Schoolboys/Girls Soccer Club to honour the memory of one of the founding members of the club and former Honorary President, the late Frank McEvoy.

Mr. McEvoy, who was a hugely influential figure in the soccer club and was a much-loved coach and mentor to generations of young boys and girls who joined Killeigh Schoolboys/Girls Soccer Club, passed away in November 2021.

The annual event to honour the memory of the legendary club stalwart consists of a Memorial Run, which will take place this Friday, September 5 next, at 6.30pm, with participants being invited to either walk, jog or run the 4 mile route.

Entries will be taken on the day from 5pm in Killeigh National School, with the adult entry fee €10, and a special rate of €20 per family.

Non-monetary prizes will be presented to the first three participants to reach the finish line, and numerous spots prizes will also be presented on the night. The much-anticipated event will be followed by refreshments in Killeigh school.
