Offaly 1985 hurlers set for silver jubilee celebration
OFFALY'S All-Ireland SHC winning team of 1985 will gather in Doheny and Nesbitt's, Lowewr Baggot Street, Dublin, the night before being paraded as this year's jubilee team at Croke Park on All-Ireland final day. Twenty-five years on from the 2-11 to 1-12 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final, members of the panel will gather for the celebration at the popular Offaly watering hole from 8pm on Saturday, September 4. They will then be guests of honour at Croke Park the following day for the Kilkenny v Tipperary All-Ireland senior final. Always a drop-in spot for GAA followers on All-Ireland final weekend, Doheny and Nesbitt's is likely to attract a throng of GAA personalities as well as the Offaly '85 team on the night, with live music, bar extension, free food and free admission. The event, instigated by the Offaly Association, Dublin, is kindly sponsored by Tom Mangan of Doheny and Nesbitt's and the Offaly GAA Supporters' Club.
